Brett Kelly

Brett Kelly is the Principal of Northshore Communications located in Dunnville Ontario.  Brett has more than sixteen years in communications, media and project management experience. 

 

Politically Brett has a wide range of experience, nationally, provincially, locally and in the U.S.  He was the Director of Research and Policy in the Office of the Official Opposition at Queens Park with John Tory, Chief of Staff to the Minister of Municipal Affairs , Communications Advisor to the Minister of Natural Resources, and Press Secretary for the Premier of Ontario. 

 

Brett has been active politically almost all his life beginning with his father's campaigns for council.  He has successfully managed campaigns for several Members of the Ontario and Nova Scotia Legislature. He worked on the Governor’s campaign in Florida in 2002, leadership campaigns in Ontario and nationally. 

At the local level Brett has worked to elect the Mayor of Windsor, local councilors and school board members across Ontario.  He managed to get himself elected as a Town of Dunnville councilor in 1991.

 

His experience in politics and communications has given him a well earned and respected reputation.  One of his communications projects was awarded a silver medal in a national forum for accessible responsive government. 

The project was later recognized internationally at the 6th Global Forum for reinventing government, sponsored by the UN. It was considered for other awards as well.

 

Brett’s experience also includes three years on Pelee Island where he was the township’s clerk administrator. His original university training took place at the University of Guelph and Laval where he majored in entomology.

 

Brett lives on the shores of Lake Erie in Port Maitland, near Dunnville, where he finds time to indulge his hobbies as an amateur naturalist, golfing and home renovation.
