Kim Newlands-Stacey

Manager, Schumacher Research & Leadership Group  

Former Student Liason, Ontario Medical Association    

 

 

With over six years of experience in Public Relations, and working with physicians, medical students and other key stakeholders in the healthcare industry, Kim has an extensive understanding of and has worked on many of the issues affecting today’s medical professionals.


In 2002, Kim was appointed as the Medical Student Liaison at the Ontario Medical Association. During her four years in this position, Kim was actively involved in promoting and enhancing medical student initiatives. She has attended numerous national and provincial medical student conferences and taken part in discussions on topics such as residency positions, financial assistance for medical students, as well as tuition fees.


In 2005, she organized the first ever provincial medical student lobby day held at Queens Park with nearly 50 medical student participants attending this event. Other events that she has organized are:

Other committees that Kim has served on are the Ontario Medical Associations’ Ontario Medical Student Bursary Fund as well as the Ontario Medical Student Association, a medical student section of the OMA. Last year Kim volunteered in the Ontario Medical Student Bursary Funds’ inaugural charity golf tournament.


Both Kim and her husband Michael are Cadet Instructor Cadre (CIC) Officers, a subcomponent of the Canadian Forces Air Reserve, which is dedicated to the development of leadership, citizenship and physical fitness of Canada’s youth. Over the past six years, she has assisted in the overall training and development of over 600 Air Cadets.


Most recently, Kim has joined the Schumacher Research and Leadership Group where she is the Manager of Operations.
